Erna Einarsdóttir was born in 1984 in Iceland, where she grew up.  From an early age she was interested in clothing, fashion, fashion magazines and design. Following a short study in fashion merchandising in San Diego, California, she enrolled in Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam where she got her BFA in Fashion design in 2009, participating in Lichting’09 with her graduation collection. She was featured in Blend and AvantGarde as one of Holland’s emerging fashion talents and chosen by ITEMS magazine as one of the top graduates of 2009. Currently she is studying MA Fashion at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London, and is expected to graduate in 2011. The focus of her work lies in the manipulation of textiles, either by creating her own from scratch or re-designing old fabrics.
