Born in 1966 in the Netherlands, Jan Melis graduated from the Design Academy in Eindhoven in the department Man and Living. Since then, he has worked for different commissioners as a product and interior designer. Amongst his most acclaimed works, are the Waterfall shower, included in the Droog collection and the Crosslight for which he received a red dot award. From his studio in Rotterdam he works for international clients amongst others: MoMA retail New York, Toyo Ito architects Tokyo, Dark Belgium, Sywawa Belgium, Royal Leerdam Crystal, Kraaijvanger Urbis architects Rotterdam, CBK Zeeland and many others.
