SMAQ is a Berlin-based collaborative studio that operates in the field of architecture, urbanism and research. It was founded by the architects Sabine Müller & Andreas Quednau, who teach at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and the Technical University of Karlsruhe.
SMAQ participated in urban research projects in Caracas, Kinshasa and Los Angeles. Current design projects include a master plan for Dubai, U.A.E. and the interior of an art hotel in Beijing; most recently they implemented a public bath in Stuttgart’s Palace gardens. SMAQ’s work has been widely exhibited at galleries and biennials including the Architecture Biennials in Rotterdam and Miami.
