(See also: Vollaers/Zwart.) Madje Vollaers and Pascal Zwart started Studio VollaersZwart in 1991 as a design studio for interdisciplinary design and visual communication. VollaersZwart explores the interaction between various disciplines like architecture, sculpture, couture, culture and communication. Public space is the platform for their design activities, which focus on the interaction between architecture, the audience, and the functionality and ambiance of a space. By now they realized various projects on the intersection of arts and design, where in their view the ideal situation is created from which new visual scenarios can be developed. This way, designs for exhibitions, festivals, eyecatchers and scenery, as well as for haute-sculpture, art in public spaces, and citydressing have been established during the last ten years.
