Han Koning was born in 1975 and grew up in a farmers village in the north of Holland. During primary school he was the most excellent daydreemer in class, wondering why airplanes can stay high in the sky instead of solving math equations. At the age of five he designed the “never empty” watering can and since then has never stopped dreaming. In 2002 he designed a vase for HEMA dedicated to unfortunate flowers with snapped stems. He filters things out of everyday life and transforms them into conceptual yet practical objects and interiors in collaboration with artists designers and architects.
