Leaves are designed with a purely functional purpose in mind.
Hutten was asked by Sjarel Ex of the famous Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam to make a proposal for the refurnishing of the museum offices and thought something should be done about the system ceilings; “They looked really awful, but, replacing the ceilings would cost a fortune.” Hutten came up with the idea to let tree branches and leaves, as it were, grow into the museum. He created Leaves that would cover the ceiling.
These playful plastic leaves with a strong magnet in the stem can be thrown against anything made of steel or metal and they stick. Take a few hundred of those leaves and place them on the metal strips of your systems ceiling and it transforms into a green canopy that is not only nice to look at, but also improves the acoustics in the space. And they can do so much more than cover ugly ceilings!
