Description

Medieval pottery from the Dutch town of Bergen op Zoom has been brought into the modern times by being cast in shiny red plastic. It has also been modernized with the use of a bright red to replace the clay red of the originals. The imperfections of the handmade earthenware are included.

Bas Warmoeskerken

Bas Warmoeskerken was born in 1977 in Bergen op Zoom in the south of the Netherlands. In 2004 he graduated cum laude from the Design Academy Eindhoven with the Red revisited series, which currently is part of the Droog collection. In 2005 he started his own independent design studio in Utrecht, concentrating on product and graphic design.

 

Next to a collection of unique items, he works for several well known national and international design companies. His work has been showed in respected galleries, museums and exhibitions such as Milan Furniture Fair, Art Basel Miami Beach, Wishlist Li Edelkoort auction by Pierre Berge & associates in Brussels, and the Museum of Arts & Design in New York.
