Ruben Iglesias
Ruben Iglesias was born in 1979 in Barcelona, Spain. He worked for years in several different fields, and in 2005 he decided to study design. After graduating in 2008 he developed some conceptual designs and created the Retrain Project. Then, in 2009 he traveled to Rotterdam to know Dutch design more closely. He exhibited his first works in some cities around The Netherlands, and collaborated with Dutch studio Demakersvan until he returned to Spain in 2010 to continue the Retrain Project in Santander, where he nowadays lives and works.

The Retrain Project is a reinterpretation of waste, where wasted materials are the basis for creating new works, halfway between design and art. His works have been exhibited in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Milan, Barcelona, Valencia and Santander, among other cities.

One of his earliest works, the reused paper pencil created in 2009-2010, became in 2012 the first work of the Retrain Project taken into production by Droog.
