SUMMARY:Amelie Spinks Trio
DESCRIPTION:The Amelie Spinks Trio continues the celebration of their new country-inspired album with an intimate performance at Café Droog. Rooted in indie folk and shaped by Amelie’s New Zealand upbringing\, the trio brings a sound that feels both timeless and quietly modern. \nBlending delicate fingerpicking\, warm vocal harmonies\, and subtle electric textures\, their songs move between tenderness and quiet intensity. The music lingers in the details\, inviting the listener into a space that is both personal and expansive. \nJoined by Anja Gottberg (contrabass) and Adrian Bifano (electric guitar)\, two deeply intuitive musicians with a shared background in jazz\, the trio creates a rich and attentive sound. Their connection formed through a mutual love of country and folk unfolds naturally on stage\, where each song is given room to breathe. \n \nThe evening will open with a set by Sam Vano\, a Dutch indie artist bringing a raw and intimate sound that blends gentle songwriting with understated energy. Moving between originals and familiar influences\, his set offers a warm and quietly captivating introduction to the night. \n  \n \nDoors Open: 19:30 \nShow Starts: 20:15

The festival focuses on experimental\, non-commercial films by emerging makers\, offering students a professional platform to present their work on the big screen while fostering an inclusive and supportive creative community. \nNow entering our 2026 edition\, AmsFF continues to grow while remaining a student-driven initiative\, organized entirely by a team of volunteer students. The festival will take place May 29th to 31st across five independent Amsterdam venues: FC Hyena\, De Uitkijk\, Het Documentaire Paviljoen\, LAB111 and Droog. As in previous years\, a jury of diverse film industry professionals will work to screen the short films and provide feedback for the filmmakers. Audience members will also be able to interact with the filmmakers at select screenings.  We are expanding the festival beyond screenings to include workshops\, Q&As\, and several networking events. \nStay tuned for updates\, tickets will be available soon… \nVisit their website for more info \n \n \n

Cornelisse uses his own custom digital tools and techniques to create emotive abstract digital worlds within live performances where audio\, light and visuals merge and enhance one another. \n In their live audiovisual performance Choral Feeling\, named after Oceanic his critically acclaimed debut album\, Oceanic and Cornelisse found their first collaborative piece. SUMMARY:Blooming | Sprouts Film Festival 2026
DESCRIPTION:Blooming by Marina Russo Villani & Victor Missud \nout of competition | 2024 | France/Benin | 45’ \nBlooming traces the journey of the water hyacinth\, once introduced to Ganvié\, Benin\, as an ornamental feature for hotels and luxury homes\, but now a suffocating presence. Following the life cycle of this invasive species – from beauty to curse to resource – the film unfolds within a waterlogged landscape steeped in local legend and the histories of the slave trade. SUMMARY:Nu Reality: The Living Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Step Inside Art with VR\nWhat if you could do more than just look at a work of art. What if you could move through it? The Living Gallery\, a VR program by Nu:Reality\, invites you to experience art in a fully immersive way. \nWith a VR headset\, you quite literally step inside paintings and journey through the imagination of artists such as Caravaggio\, Edvard Munch\, and Henri Matisse. Worlds unfold around you and respond to your presence\, as color\, movement\, and emotion become almost tangible. \nAlongside these artistic journeys\, the program also demonstrates how VR can tell intimate\, human stories\, adding a new dimension to the way we experience both art and one another. \nThe VR program will be on view from April 30 through June 24\, 2026\, at seven locations across the Netherlands. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nCreation of the Worlds (30 mins)\nAn immersive VR journey into the visionary universe of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis\, Creation of the Worlds invites viewers to step inside his paintings and become part of their unfolding. \nMoving through cycles such as Creation\, The City\, and The Deluge\, the experience blends art\, music\, and myth into a poetic exploration of creation\, destruction\, and rebirth where the viewer becomes both witness and co-creator of evolving worlds. \nhttps://www.droog.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Creation-of-the-Worlds-Trailer.mp4\n \nCaravaggio\, In Tenebris (9 mins)\nThe experience is an imaginary journey through a maze of narrow streets – an intimate labyrinth leading from the gilded splendor of a Roman palace to the dark backstreets where Caravaggio sought adventure and ultimately met his downfall. Along this nocturnal walk\, we encounter his paintings as his life unfolds in vivid\, striking close-ups. \n \n  \n \n\n\nNu:Reality is a Virtual Reality (VR) platform connecting storytelling\, technology\, publicity\, education\, research\, and innovation in the immersive arts industry\n\n\n\n\nAn unprecedented platform created in partnership between Cassette and Diversion cinema\, Nu:Reality is the first of its kind to offer a truly accessible stage for high-quality artistic VR experiences. By integrating VR into the daily programming offered at movie theaters\, Nu:Reality fosters a collective journey into the captivating and boundless world of VR.
