Bag design for Mandarina Duck by Marcel Wanders
Marcel Wanders
Bad design for Mandarina Duck, 1999
Droog is commissioned by the Italian Company Mandarina Duck to design a series of technical bags. The project brought together several designers, exploring innovative forms and constructions that challenged conventional ideas of luggage and accessories.
The final concept, selected by Mandarina Duck, was designed by Marcel Wanders and featured an inflated, sculptural bag with an integrated belt. Playful yet functional, the design reflected Droog’s experimental spirit and required extensive technical development before it could be realised.
