Redefining The Upgraded Woman & Draadpiraat
Śpiewak & Zechut // James BF
An hour-long immersive programme that blends contemporary dance, location theatre and electronic music.
ACT I — Redefining The Upgraded Woman (The Grand Space)
Where seasons and colours of femininity meet, The Upgraded Woman emerges —open-ended, ever-changing, and redefining herself day by day. She dares to reveal her inner world and finds refuge in intimacy. Simply by witnessing her, our own petals begin to unfold. Performed by Lola Dupriez, Sofia Montenegro, Tatiana Śpiewak and Sarah Zechut, this quartet reflects on femininity through contemporary dance, physical theatre and original music by Kyra Khaldi.
ACT II — Draadpiraat (The Red Space)
The quartet moves away from The Grand Space and finds resolution in Draadpiraat, the live-electronics project by James BF. Using custom hardware, he has created a minimal rhythmic system that probes the relationship between maker and machine. Choosing when to intervene and when to let the system run produces evolving musical textures that reshape over time. In Droog’s intimate Red Space this becomes a concentrated, immersive listening experience.
Tatiana Śpiewak and Sarah Zechut are a duet of artists working across contemporary dance and physical theatre. They teach, curate interdisciplinary performances, and collaborate with other makers to explore resonant connections between various artistic worlds.
