Droog Distributors Debate at Object Rotterdam
The distributors of Droog in Athens, Dubai, Tokyo and Shanghai shared experiences in the debate ‘Pioneering new markets with Droog’ on the 3rd of February 2009. Subject of the debate was the international market in relation to design, the Netherlands in general, and to Droog specifically. The debate was organised by Premsela, the Dutch platform for design and fashion, as part of the design fair Object Rotterdam.
The debate’s moderator, Marco Bevolo (publicist and former director of Philips Design) asked the distributors for their idea of Droog. Kou Hattori of droog Tokyo: ‘If I tell my clients to use their imagination to give meaning to the products, they get confused.’ Lyndon Neri (Shanghai): ‘I want to create consciousness with the Droog products. Objects that make people angry, happy, fearfull or curious have reached their goal.
