Welcome to our Screening Series in the Red Space
We are a multimedia film theatre located in the heart of Amsterdam with a 5 minutes walking distance to the center, offering a curated and culturally diverse film program with the mission of broadening the cinematic landscape. With a state-of-the-art projector and high-fidelity audio system, we provide an intimate yet technically excellent viewing experience for up to 70 guests.
Most of our screenings is a curated event which is often accompanied by filmmaker Q&As, workshops, thematic food pairings, or community-led conversations. We aim to serve as the mediator and a space for emerging voices in contemporary cinema. Our partnerships include both established festivals and new, community-led initiatives, with a particular focus on showcasing lesser-known and underground filmmakers, artists, and curators from Amsterdam and beyond.
Are you a filmmaker, festival organization, or collective with a film that wants to be seen?
You can submit a short film, documentary, program overview or a video work to us. Send your work (with a short description, director bio, and screening history) to our film & documentary curator Alya Yumrukçal through [email protected]. And we will get back to you shortly.
Our Program

Who am I? #1 Luci (2024) Screening
Who am I? is a curated film and cultural program that explores the layered and evolving experience of cultural identity.
Through building a film program that explores global identities from a transnational perspective we aim to bring both national and international communities together to feel belonged and welcomed despite their physical distances from their original cultures and countries. With this program we are creating a dialogue between understanding our families, friends, neighbours, through connecting and thinking critically about the way our cultures shape who we are.

Walk with Pride Weaving Screening
A unique participatory art project where community, craft, and queer storytelling come together.
In this series of weaving workshops, we learnt how to create fabric squares using any materials through the practice of weaving. Each square becomes a canvas for a personal story, with a special focus on voices from queer communities and allies. Participants were first taught how to weave and later were invited for a Queer Screening where they could continue weaving along with enjoying the screening.

Queer Cinema for Palestine
A film program that brings together queer narratives and collective reflection in solidarity with Palestinian liberation.
In this powerful evening of queer and Palestinian screenings, together with the Queer Cinema for Palestine Film Festival we hosted the 3rd edition of QCP where we showcased eight different short films spanning from experimental animation, poetic documentary, fiction and archival remix.

A celebration of global Carnaval traditions through the lens of cinema.
From July 11–13, this first-ever edition in Amsterdam invites you on a journey through films that capture the spirit, sound, and soul of Carnaval. With a focus on joy, resistance, and cultural memory, the festival features stories from Brazil to Trinidad, from Curaçao to New Orleans, and right back home to the Netherlands and Belgium.
A Red Space for cinematic and cultural discoveries of curated films, documentaries, and experimental works from around the world.
