A Jacket for Lonely People, 2008
A Jacket for Lonely People is a conceptual garment designed to spark unexpected human interaction. Made with wide strips of Velcro integrated into a cotton jacket, it allows two wearers to briefly attach when they come into contact. What would normally be an accidental brush in public space becomes a playful moment of connection. Created for S1NGLETOWN, the project reflects on urban solitude and explores how design can gently disrupt isolation by encouraging spontaneous encounters between strangers.
A jacket for lonely people is a jacket made of Velcro strips. Lonely singles walk around their city, hoping to bump into someone else with the same jacket. On contact, the two jackets connect, creating an instant social situation.
