Carpet by Annelys de Vet

Annelys de Vet
Carpet, 2016

A conceptual textile design developed for Droog. Made primarily from wool, the carpet reflects de Vet’s research-based design practice, in which objects function as carriers of meaning rather than purely decorative elements.

The work explores how familiar, domestic materials can be used to communicate social and cultural narratives. By working with wool, a material strongly associated with craft, tradition, and everyday use,  Carpet invites reflection on the stories embedded in ordinary objects and the ways design can frame critical perspectives on society.

Presented within Droog’s design archive, Carpet exemplifies the collective’s commitment to experimental and thought-provoking design, situated at the intersection of textile, visual communication, and conceptual practice.
