Godogan Table by Niels van Eijk & Miriam van der Lubbe

This table is elaborately handcrafted in Indonesia. It is  common to have things produced in Asia to achieve low cost mass production, whereas this project is based on the  high level of craftsmanship in this part of the world.

To challenge the skills of the workers to the utmost, the designers made an extremely complicated design, depicting an Indonesian fairy tale.  This table could not have been carved in the West where comparable craftsmanship is rare and expensive.
