Porcelain stool by Hella Jongerius

Hella Jongerius was looking for an application for porcelain other than the usual dinner services and vases: could porcelain be safely scaled up to make furniture?

Porcelain is by nature malleable, soft and warm. It’s only in the firing process that it gets rigid, hard and cool. The stool expresses the true nature of the material.
