Birdhouse by Marcel Wanders

Birdhouse, 2000
The Birdhouse improves the birds’ etiquette by letting them eat from a porcelain plate. It is a knock-down three-star restaurant for small birds. Suitable for any outdoor or garden setting, a simple roof over a plate makes the Birdhouse an appealing solution for everyday routine.
Part of the Couleur Locale project: Droog Design for Oranienbaum in 1999. For that, Marcel Wanders said: “I have focused on products that might contribute to the special character and atmosphere the region has for the interested visitor, not just because this makes the region even more attractive, but also since this region has very special qualities that might be unique and important to the rest of the world.”
